Hello {{first_name | Dear Friend}},
By the time Sunday arrives, many of us are ready for a quieter rhythm. It’s a nice moment to catch up with family, check in with friends, and think a little about the kind of life and community we want around us as the years go by.
In today’s Relationships & Family Sunday, we’re exploring an interesting housing option that more women are considering – community-based senior co-housing. It offers a way to live independently while still enjoying connection and support from the people around you.

Looking to the Red Carpet for Real-Life Style
by Patty Lowell
Awards season may not seem like the most obvious place for a woman in her 60s to look for fashion inspiration. After all, much of the coverage focuses on young starlets in gowns that appear designed more for spectacle than for real life. And most of us are unlikely...

by Andrea Bjorkman
There comes a point in life when you begin to look at your story differently. Not just where you’re going, but where you’ve been. The choices you made. The roles you played. The responsibilities you carried. And for many women...

A Beautiful 30 Minutes to Notice, Rest and Enjoy
by Lily Bradshaw
With the unseasonal warm weather for mid-March in the west of England, I was excited to be out in the garden. Due to a recent operation there were so many tasks left undone, and I was keen to get moving. Spring wasn’t going to wait for anyone!
✉️ Editor’s Note
As we move through our 60s and beyond, many of us begin thinking about what the next chapter of home and community might look like.
For some, that means staying in the same house they’ve loved for decades. For others, it might mean downsizing, moving closer to family, or even exploring new living arrangements that offer both independence and companionship.
What’s encouraging is that there are now more options than ever before. Many women are discovering creative ways to design a lifestyle that balances privacy, connection, and support while maintaining the freedom to live life on their own terms.
Sometimes the question isn’t just “Where will I live?” but “What kind of community do I want around me?”

🙌 Relationship Feature
Independent Living in a Community Setting
More women over 60 are exploring senior co-housing and community living as an alternative to traditional retirement options.
In these communities, residents typically have their own private homes or apartments, but they also share common spaces like gardens, kitchens, or gathering areas. The goal is to maintain independence while enjoying a built-in sense of connection and mutual support.
Unlike assisted living facilities, these communities are often resident-driven, meaning the people who live there help shape the culture, activities, and day-to-day life of the neighborhood.
One of the biggest advantages is the social aspect. Living near like-minded neighbors makes it easier to build friendships, share meals, start walking groups, or simply check in on each other from time to time. This kind of environment can reduce feelings of isolation while still allowing everyone to live independently.
For many women, these communities offer something appealing: the freedom of living on your own, combined with the comfort of knowing someone is nearby if you need a hand or just a cup of tea and a good conversation.
💖 Heart Reflection
As this week comes to a close, it’s a lovely time to think about the people and places that make you feel at home.
Sometimes that home is a familiar house filled with memories. Sometimes it’s a new place waiting to become part of your story. And often, it’s the relationships around us that truly create that feeling of belonging.
However you spend your Sunday – sharing a meal, calling a friend, or simply enjoying a quiet moment for yourself – we hope it reminds you that community can take many beautiful forms.
We’ll see you again next week. 💛
